AI & Intelligence

Inference wired into the services layer, not bolted beside it.

Intelligence layer6 industries require it2 published systems

Argument

AI is a service, not a product surface. It sits in the services layer with a route to data and a route back to the platform — which is what makes a conclusion actionable rather than decorative.

Role in the system

Analysis that has somewhere to go.

Adding intelligence introduces a node in the services layer, reached through the API platform and connected to the data layer. The connection back is what matters: analysis that cannot reach the operational model produces observations nobody can act on.

That is the difference between an AI feature and an AI-native system. One returns an answer; the other changes the state of the thing being worked on.

System effect

A services-layer node with data on both sides.

The composition below shows intelligence in the services layer, between the platform above it and the governed data beneath. No experience layer is implied — AI does not require a surface of its own.
